Building up exhibits at the House of Lace and Now with the House’s handyman team.
And sometimes it is exactly that.
On January 18, I opened my first solo exhibition at The House of Cotton & Now. A place I’ve loved coming to for years and which feels familiar to me. Still, I was in early and clearly tense. Showing my work and sharing my story and then doing it in a big way. That remains special.

After a cup of coffee, things calmed down. Gerrit van Woudenberg’s words provided guidance and then I was able to open the exhibition myself. There was laughter and silence and sharing. The first work was even sold. That touched me more than I can explain.
At the end of the afternoon, I was sitting among the flowers. With my arms full and my head still a little full of everything that happened. So much attention and so many warm words. It felt like everything came together.
Sometimes it’s not what it seems.
But today it was exactly what it needed to be.
Thank you to everyone who was there. Who watched. Spoke. And felt.
Special thanks to Erwin Lette for curating and setting up my exhibition.
