Exhibition Floortje van Loon ’IT IS NOT WHAT IT LIKE’

The auction of my work “Let each other free” at House of cotton & now is in full swing! ✨

The price is already at €335 with 13 bids – and there are still 15 days to go. That means it could still go either way.

I notice a lot of interest in this work, and that makes me incredibly happy. At the same time, I know: in the last days of an auction, things can suddenly move fast.

All proceeds go to coffee for the guests of the House of Cotton and Now, a small gesture that makes meeting and hospitality possible.

So I say: in doubt? Just make an offer.
Perhaps you will soon be the one to give this work a new place.

I am very curious to see where this auction will end up!

What an honor !!! Now am also artist of the month of February in Almelo, it runs together with my exhibition in the. House of Lace and Now
The whole story can be read on the Facebook page of almelo1
The House of Cotton and Now is an icon for Almelo. Originated from the unforgettable musical, now continued as a building that connects. With everything that ordinary Almeloans love: Heracles, famous (former) residents, pictures and movies, free portraits, shared stories, etc, etc. But it is more: a breeding ground of new activities, a cultural hotchpotch, where things and people are connected. Also in the interest of the downtown.

Looking beyond the first impression
In the exhibition “It is not what it seems,” Van Loon deliberately plays with recognition and alienation. An image that seems clear at first glance changes the longer you look. The exhibition invites visitors to doubt, interpret and be surprised.

Active within the regional art world
Van Loon has exhibited in various places in Almelo and beyond in recent years. She participated in the International Art Brut Biennale in Hengelo, exhibited at Kunstpunt Almelo, participated in Open Ateliers Almelo and in the Open Air Gallery in Enschede. She also organized her own exhibitions with other artists, including pop-up exhibitions. Accessible and inclusive art is an important starting point for her: art should be experienced by everyone.
